On or about June 22nd, the milling machine will be delivered and milling is scheduled to begin on June 25th. It is expected to take four days to complete the milling. Once the milling is completed the man hole covers and storm sewers grates will be brought up to street level. When that work is completed paving will begin. Drivers, especially those on motorcycles, need to be aware of milled and grooved roads. To complete the work it is expected to take four to five weeks. Those on the streets that are being milled and paved, will be receiving a letter from the Village explaining the work and time frame. PLEASE do not park on the street when the work is being done. This will help the job move along with no interruptions. The following streets will be completed. If funds are still available, other areas will be completed.
Park Avenue from Salt Works Road to West Avenue
West Avenue from West Center Street to Maple Ridge Road
West side of State Street from Horan Road to East Center Street

The Orleans County Legislature
is very concerned about the aging bridge infrastructure providing access across
the Erie Canal. We are working to engage state stakeholders to address
problems related to restriction of movement of automotive traffic, commercial
truck traffic, emergency equipment and agricultural equipment.
County has updated the official website to include a “Canal Bridge Concerns”
page. It can be accessed directly from the homepage: www.orleansny.com or on the Residents page
under “Misc County Maps”.
